    Paddy,
I enjoyed your story. I'm a few years older, but had similar experiences. My dad brought me to our local small town bank and bought me a box of 40 rolls of pennies. I went through them in a week and returned them with replacements for the ones I took out for my albums and traded them for another box. That kept me occupied in the long winter months and rainy summer days. I got to know the local banker. I think he planted a few older pennies for me to find. I found one complete roll of 1935 wheat cents, which I still have, they were all circulated, so perhaps another collector mistakenly returned them. There was a "Hobby Shop" down the hill from our house that I would check for pennies and bought few of the more difficult to find S mints in Minnesota. I didn't find the most rare ones until ten years ago on eBay. Of course, then I needed to upgrade the worn pennies for higher grades, that added to the thrill of the hunt. Then I started on the Flying Eagles and Indian Head Cents, which quickly became my favorite collection. With the pandemic still raging, it will probably be a year or so yet before I feel safe attending a live show, so this forum keeps me engaged.

@frech001 I really liked your message it truly made me smile! However I went to make dinner and while I was gone some Gremlins gave me like over 200 likes! Yikes...now I sort of know the culprit.
Will deal with them in a bit.
Meanwhile back to you...you know my IHC collection is so much better than my Lincolns im like 5 short of complete set give or take a few cool varieties that I would love to have in my collection.
I have several plate coins too, in my IHC collection.
** speaking of varities....how would you like a very cool MS 1906 IHC with a mpd? **
You haven't been to a show in awhile how about a small show of 1 Indian head cent showing up at your door? All you need do is pm me your address I'll take care of the rest... as John Wayne would say ...
How about that Pilgrim? No kidding no strings... just say yes ,and like" a candy gram" across the street or across this nation I'll post you this 1906 IHC.yours to keep and enjoy.
You made my day ....now it's my turn to make yours!
Thank you ....plus now you will be put in the hat for the 83p 25% off center strike.

Someone going to the wood shed...and cutting their own switch first!

I really like that off center.,

I also think your Lincoln Cent book is nice as well. A lot of mine were circulation finds, even some of the really early dates, so my collection feels special to me.

My apologies to the members here who have had to deal with this mess. My intention was a fun thread and to have a few laughs.
Not be threatened by a member who over stepped their bounds ,and caused this mess. Please continue to post if you should care to. And on Friday I will award the off center Jefferson to someone who name was pulled from the hat....and justify deserves the prize.
Pottydollar you are disqualified from any give away or contest I decide to sponsor. I have also reported your behavior to the powers being.... your behavior is unbecoming of the membership here...

JeffC Go explore something and think a happy thought!

I don't have any old albums to post but I just wanna say that I really enjoyed reading your recollection. Thanks for sharing. Your comments about the plane are most interesting. Smoking was allowed?! I guess there were no movies and you'd have to stock up on magazines and books to read. I remember an old B&W movie I saw where the windows on the plane had curtains! I somehow remember that till today.
