Does anyone happen to know if PCGS will send my 18 slabbed coins back in one of these nifty plastic 20 coin holders with the PCGS logo on them?

I would really love one of these. They sell for $4.50 on the PCGS site (for members but they cost $7.25 for nonmembers) but I refused to pay $10 shipping on a $4.50 purchase so I’m hoping they send my 18 slabbed coins back in one of those boxes.

I don't know why they were so cheap on the packaging for the Morgans and Peace dollars. I had 3 of these blue felt ones that the dollar size with the plastic capsule fit perfectly. Too small for an ASE. I got these for a dollar a piece from someone who must have sent a few dollar commemoratives off for grading... DSCN3298~2.JPG DSCN3297~2.JPG

Every single 2021 Morgan & Peace dollar I got had fallen out of the insert during transit from the Mint.

Not a single one had the capsule secure in the insert like they should have been.

Fortunately the capsules were still on securely so the coins were OK.

They definitely cheaped out. I’ve always liked the proof ASE packaging the best. It feels premium.

At least the capsules are pretty decent. I have some old common date Peace Dollars I bought as bullion in VF-XF condition that would fit perfectly since I believe the Morgan & Peace Dollars are the same size.

Does anyone happen to know if I will be able to see my PCGS grades online when they are finished being graded?

Or do I have to wait until I receive my coins back to see the grades?

Looks like my coins arrived at PCGS today and that there were no problems with the signature for delivery :)

It’s a huge relief to know they arrived since I didn’t have insurance for them because FedEx doesn’t insure coins :/.

They have a quarterly special going on right now with a gold box and a bronze commemorative, which you qualify to get if they don't run out.

That's how I do it too, that way I don't have to worry about their shut off date for first strike.

Oh wow I didn’t know about all that! Thanks for sharing! :)

That’s so cool that I qualify for the special so I hope they don’t run out.

That’s what I did but purely out of laziness. This way it’ll be more like a surprise and these days who doesn’t like surprises…

However, post mark is all’s needed for FS, in which case prescreening is the way to go. Sealed boxes are good forever for FS purposes provided the mint shipped them out within 30 days
NGC is different and they got to get there within postmark of 30, or no special labels. Or sent in to be held in their repository for future grading.

How would they know if the mint shipped them out within 30 days or not? There is no date on the mint postage. I checked mine and there is just name, address, and the return address.

There's a shipping notice inside the mint box that has a date it was shipped. Here's my latest order which were all past the shut off date, all except the last 4 will get first strike.

Oh nice! How long does it take before the order is registered in the system?

It says they received my package but when I click “orders” it doesn’t show my items like it does yours.

Is it one of those things that takes a few days? Or a few weeks?

My understanding is they’re currently jammed with submissions.
Some have reported 82 business days on economy, but occasionally one flys through.
    What tier did you select?

I submitted two modern error coins for a cross-over. Just received them back 2 days ago in a PCGS box. Nice! I thought my coins would be back in a Priority Mail-type flat envelope. :)

In normal times, 1-2 days, now up to a week usually but it'll sit there forever until it's done most likely. They have it in their safe they'll get there to it.

If you really want to go to your account online click the find my package and itll tell you they have it too

I chose Modern Value for $17/coin.

I know grading the coin and sending it back will take quite some time but I wanted to know how long it is before they enter it into the system so I can see where it is in the grading process.

You're gonna need a new hobby for the next 2-3 months if you're already worried about check where it is lol. This is the worst time of year to submit even in normal volume times. Thanskgiving, Baltimore, New Years, Christmas, FUN all reduced staff/closed days that don't count for the time many of which are more than one day.

Just start preparing yourself for Mid January at the earliest for the grades
