Hi I have a cracked dime, the crack goes from rim to rim. what do you think it's worth, and should I have it graded? I have it posted under the error forum, but was just curious what people might think it's worth.

The coin isn't cracked, but the die that struck it was, and badly so. Nice find!

We appreciate your enthusiam, but multiple posts in separate forums are against forum rules.

You'll get the answer to your question if you are patient enough. Don't try to force the issue.

A measure of worth is difficult. What you have is certainly significant, and some would find it collectible.

Well there were two seperate sections, one for errors and one for what is it worth. There is no trying to "force" anything, I apologise for not reading forum rules.

You did ask about value in the error section, no?

I appreciate you bringing this coin to our attention, but the forum moderators are fairly strict here.

I hope you get the answers you seek.

I do like your coin; I would be proud to have it in my collection.

I wish you the best of luck.

    First off, Excellant Find!!!

I believe it was Fred Weinberg that made me an offer of $75 for one that I found.

    Mine is a 2007 Dime.

I decided to keep mine. These "Rim to Rim Fully Cracked Die" coins seem to be very uncommon.....

Here is a link to the thread about mine: http://www.cointalk.com/t43680/

If you are wanting to sell it, I would reccommend not settling for less than $150.

Here's some better pics of my buffalo. This is one of my most favorite buffalo nickels and one of the first coins I plan on having graded. I may even send it over to teletrade when I decide to sell. ;)

Oh that was weird, I thought this was your other post. You will get more if you have it graded. Ungraded $20 to $30, graded maybe $75 to $100. That's just my opinion and I do not know, basically just guessing here.

Hey up there, I didn't realize that your crack is from rim to rim but it still doesn't change my guess on the amount. good luck

    You are welcome.
If you are really in a bind to sell it, $75 may not seem too low. I mean, that's 750% profit for a dime that you found circulating!!!! THAT'S a NICE HIT!
    Butt,
I am thinking that as rarely as you come across these coins, you could sell it for AT LEAST TWICE THAT PRICE.

Keep us posted on whatever it is you decide to do with it.

    Again, NICE FIND!!!!!

fretboard: I cannot tell from the pictures, but your nickel appears to have a lamination error. Is this what you believe it to be?
