I bought this raw twenty eight years ago. I bid $309 in a Bowers mail bid auction and won. That was a lot of money for me at the time. I did well on this coin. Fell free to post your Draped Bust Quarters.
Here are two I have in my type set. The 1796 Quarter in VF-25 An 1807 in AU-55. This is in very low relief and a bear to photograph. I bought this from Catherine Bullowa many years ago. She thought that it came from the Brand Collection. This is an early die state. The reverse has some P-L luster around the eagle's head.
This is a coin for my type set. I remember it because of the toning gaps on the obverse. I guess some "contaminant" (glue, etc.) was removed but it didn't bother PCGS; they straight graded it VF-35. And CAC agreed.
Very nice 6/5, Larry. You did indeed do well with that coin. I have a few draped bust quarters, none in very good shape. This is one of the better ones for which I paid $850 about 25 years ago. .
