Picked up tonight. I paid strong money, but I needed a fix.

Nice coin. The reverse is really cool.

I'm wondering if someone besides the OP has the guts to attribute this one

    Edit: I tried :banghead:

I was going through an old box today that's been put away for years and I found these four - all were cheap and have wear / details but I like 'em! IMG_4487 (2).JPG IMG_4489 (2).JPG IMG_4491 (2).JPG IMG_4492 (2).JPG

The '29 is O-104A; the '32 is O-111. Although I might be able to attribute the '31 in hand there is too much wear to do so from the pic.

Nice everyday used coins. [IMG] upload_2021-11-15_6-37-13.png

Very good - I passed on that one right off, thought star 13 looked like it was nearly touching the hair, I guess not.

I used John Wright's Cent Book for Middle Dates technique of looking where the stars point. Between, nearly between or at dentils. Then the position of the dentil under the 1 relative to the upright. Not a bad first guess.

One thing to note, the stars tend to "stretch" toward the edges and design elements as the dies wear. So an early state will look crisper and more distant from other elements than a late state. This may account for the apparent difference in the distance to the hair.
