I pick this up at my buddy shop for $33.00.he got a hole roll in that a family sold as scrape silver.and I walked in yesterday as they were selling the rolls the other roll was a 1921-P good strike but no way near the roll 1904-O.he mine grade it & tell me if it PL or DMPL???
With the heavy hits on the face and the eagle I'd say no better than 63. It's very close to being bad enough to call it damage. As for the PL designation (no way it's DMPL) you have to test it yourself. Hold a business card or printed page up in front of the coin. If you can read the text in the reflection on the coin at 2inches away then it's PL. If not, it isn't.
Probably 63 PL, but it's really tough to tell whether it would get the designation with that obverse photo. It's not a DMPL. Just my opinion. They don't pay me to grade.
ms-63 PL And I have a 1903 DMPL ms-60 1921 PL ms-62 ANACS graded so if i were to base it upon my experience with 1903 I would say its a PL IMO.
the full date roll was the 1921 unc sliders at best & the roll that had 10 1904-O also 5 1971-S MS on one end 2 1973--S MW &3 1974-S MS the writing the roll 1972 IKE & 1974 IKE.that was he thought he was buying.no one new there 10 gem 1904-O in there till later.
Uh, wow, I lucked out finding the dealer I did... he was much more thorough buying my family's coins. I don't think my dealers would buy 1974 Ikes unless they are 1974-S or slabbed.
If you seen bu or silver by the pound deals on TV or in Coin World. you have about a 10- 50% chance of get silver from in the southeast/Huntsville AL 99% of unc or slider silver he send to Silvertown & Coast to Coast. I know for sure 10 1904-O are on there way to Pcgs.and mine is one of them plus this
If I was a dealer, I can't buy with writing on a wrapper, gotta crack the roll see what's there. Sorting stuff is pretty easy for a numismatist with experience, or a dealer. Good stuff "just shines" to be picked. You can pick a teens wheatie out of a bag, for example. You have to crack the rolls you're buying to make sure they're silver. This is Fishy to me !
He know the man of many year's he would buy slip coin ect.so we knew last 5-6 yr had Alzheimer .so when is family came in to sell them why he took them in with out looking at them,he had just passed why make family go thur that.I guess we do thing down different we don't think folks would try to rip us off that we know
