    Hey all,

I thought these were pretty cool, I’m not sure how common they are for these dates I have seen a few 2C pieces that were slightly rotated on the reverse but not complete 180 as this one is, if you flip the coin it is upside down unlike other coins! For the IHC I don’t think I can recall once finding one not on eBay. I found these both in a massive lot I had purchased a week or so ago. Thought it was a cool find and thought I’d share, not sure if there’s much value added but still a nice look.

    best regards,
    Travis

Yes sadly not the small motto it’s just the fact that the obverse and reverse are the same both sides they don’t have the normal rotation all coins do! Haven’t seen the 180 die rotation in a while and don’t think I’ve owned one myself :)

Coins with 180 rotation are pretty cool. I found a three cent silver a while back. Fun coins.

I sent my grandson who is a budding numismatist a two cent with a 180 degree rotation. I challenged him to tell me what was different about that coin and I would reward him with a lovely bust half when he figured it out. It took him a couple weeks, but when he figured it out, he said he would never ever look at another coin without looking for a rotated die!

That is awesome! Nothing better to grasp his attention and bring him closer to the hobby thanks to an awesome grandfather! Thank you for keeping this thing alive!

Going through world coins, I always flip them to inspect the other side and get frustrated that many have the medal alignment rather than the coin alignment.

What’s the difference and how can you tell? Never heard of either.

When you flip the coin over obv. To rev. Is the image right side up or upside down? Thats the different.

For medal both sides are the same and for coin alignment as U.S coins are for example the reverse is reversed.

Upside down you need to turn it completely left or right for it to be the same. Opposite of our coins

Yea it’s medal then because both reverse and inverse are the same.
