Been looking for a Domitia coin for a while now and this sweet little bronze provincial called to me...Thought I'd share it.. Nice portrait with her full name readable and also a well centred reverse. It was minted in Eumeneia between 81-96 A.D, a town positioned on the river Claucus in the ancient West region of ancient Asia Minor, part of modern day Turkey. The town was named after Eumenis II by his brother the king of Pergamon Attalus II. Phrygia, Eumeneia (near Civril, Turkey). Domitia, 81-96 AD. Bronze AE 15mm (2.47 gm). Obv.: ΔOMITIA CEBACTH, Draped bust right. Hair rolled in front and in que behind, Rev.: ΚΛ• ΤEΡEΝΤΥΛΛΑ ΑΡΧΙE /EΥΜE-ΝE-ΩΝ, Kybele enthroned to left, Patera in extended right hand, resting left forearm and hand on Tympanum (drum) at near side RPC II 1388. Rare. gVF. And here's hubby.. Feel free to post your Domitia/Domitian coins.

That's lovely, @Spaniard! Very nice. Being of a limited budget, my Domitia coins are all provincial bronzes. This is the nicest -- a twofer with her husband. Domitian, AD 81-96, and Domitia, AD 82-96. Roman provincial Æ 24 mm, 9.45 g. Cilicia, Anazarbus, city year 112 = AD 93/4. Obv: ΑΥΤΟ ΚΑΙ ΘΕ ΥΙ ΔΟΜΙΤΙΑΝΟΣ ΣΕ ΓΕΡ, laureate head of Domitian, right; behind, star. Rev: ΚΑΙΣΑΡΕΩΝ ΔΟΜΕΤΙΑ ⳞΕΒΑⳞΤΗ, ΙΒ-Ρ (in field; = year 112 of the city), draped bust of Domitia, left. Refs: RPC II 1749; SNG France 2019-20; BMC 9; Ziegler 76 (obv 1/rev 3); SNG Levante 1374.
@DonnaML....Great looking coin and one of my favourite bronzes of yours. @Roman Collector....Very nice green highlighting! Makes the coin 'zing'! @Both...Definetly reverse match and I'm really leaning towards obverse too. Thanks for posting. @Deacon Ray.....Thank you!.....I do try and overlay all legends if I can but wish I had your skills of photography and show..
Great addition Domitia (82 - 83 A.D.) AR Cistophoric Tetradrachm O: DOMITIA AVGVSTA, draped bust right. R: VENVS AVG, Venus standing right, leaning on cippus, holding helmet and spear. Ephesus mint. Struck 82-83 AD. 10.29g 26mm RIC II 230 (Domitian); RPC II 870; BMCRE 256 (Domitian); BN 226; RSC 19.
Great new add! Good portrait and very clearly legible name. About a year ago I sold my old, tiny Domitia (from Philadelphia, Lydia) For a nicer AR with hubby on the other side Still a mystery to me why her imperial coinage is so pricey, even compared to comparably rare empresses like Julia Titi.
Nice coins @Mat and @Finn235...Thanks for sharing. Yes completely agree, I did initially start looking at Imperial silver but they're just out of my budget and then remembered Donna's lovely Provincial which sent me off in that direction. I've become much more interested in Provincials now as they do allow you to pick up scarcer emperors/empressess at reachable prices.
