Great looking Indian Head! In answer to your question, below people who can't tell the difference between gilt and gold probably don't like it! "Who Doesn’t Like Gold?"
Amen. Today the collectors want mirror finishes on coins. That is not what they are all about. And, that is a contributor to the complaints people have regarding the hazing.
Coins with slight blemishes, toning or honest wear, gold or not, are my favorites. I am not interested in selling, so high MS or PF coins mean a lot less to me than others. Nice example @Collecting Nut thanks for sharing
Have never felt the 'bite of the gold bug' and always preferred the white metal. (Requested that my UT graduation ring be of white gold) Never the less, for investment I'm very pleased how my small stash ( 25 ozs.) have almost increased 2.5X price paid. To each his own, J.T.
Greetings Mr. Nut & fellow CT-ers, The only silver bullion I collect is to continue my ASE set in the Dansco book. I've had to purchase several blank pages to keep up yearly. Think I paid 600$ when I purchased the collection in 2005 or 06. The book only had places for mintages up to 2012.. The silver coins in my small (Collectible) collection are all silver but TPGed and usually either key or semi-key if not MS-65+. I'm in awe of those in this group who had the foresight to stock up on silver when it was 4-10$ /oz... Kudos to those members, J.T.
Who doesn't like gold? Me. I detest pretty much anything yellow. I once bought the house across the street from me just so that I could paint it something other than that horrendous hue.
For a house, yes yellow is not a great color. My first house was a ranch house and it was yellow. I managed to get a nice discount on it due to the color. After moving in I painted it.
I like Gold coins. The Indian Head design is far from my favorite. I like the Native American portrait much better on the Buffalo nickel.
I just found this little lady which I'd forgotten I had from a random purchase several years ago, so I was very pleasantly surprised! I don't collect gold (not on my budget outside of bonus time) but somehow I've picked up a few over the years. What is the "Net" MS60 thing about? Was / is that just an ANACS thing?
I think that was their way of saying "without the scratch, this might be MS64, but with the damage, it's worth about as much as an MS60 example".
I, also am one of those who hate the color. My grandmother had those bright yellow dish gloves and they were absolutely repulsive to me. Headaches galore.
