This coin is Newcomb-4, obverse die 2, reverse die D. Rarity 2+. That stuff near K3 on the reverse is crud, not cud.
Well, it depends. In general, it's neither better nor worse. Rather, it's case by case. Some folks collect a single variety by die state, so a late die state such as a cud is collectible for some folks (a very few specialists). If the late die state is rare, someone might pay a premium. Even casual folks sometimes find them interesting and might buy the coin 'cuz they think it's cool. Sometimes they're very instructive.
