i was gonna wait a couple of more days before putting up, but it lQQks like @Orielensis has spotted a clue.. i didn't want to give it away posting and i didn't want to be dishonest.. so i did it like that..these two coins are modern 'reproductions' that cost 25 'pounds' shipped. i found them after i'd looked at several Balbinus and Pupienus sestertius at several auction houses..i noticed on a few blisters and what looked like fake patina to me...so i went looking to see what i could find in the fake department and found these a place in GB called "Thomas Greaves"..these are call "Victorian reproductions"..and i am quite sure i seen a few of these up for auction in my search...i got these to remind me(and my Peeps here also) that they are out there and to keep BN Leary..i included pics of two coins that i personally thought were fake, not that they were mind you but...and then i looked at what kind of guarantee they had,.....i know that most my Peeps here didn't/wouldn't look critically at my coins, bless their hearts.
So they're both repros, right? Because my Balbinus, which if I remember correctly, cost me around $300 - $350, looks suspiciously like yours: Sure looks like a double die match, doesn't it?
How did you check that? I'm pretty sure that I've owned it for about 3 or 4 years. I think I bought it from a VCoins dealer.
