I was sorting through my coins and took a few pics I thought I would share. These are two of about 10 gold coins I have. There is just something about the old gold coins I like.
If I get a chance I will post some more pics, I've got a couple $2.5s a $10 and some $5 gold pieces along with my 1916 McKinley dollar.

Gold coins hey... Here's a few of the ones i've had (not all at once though my pockets aren't deep enough for that, so i owned them in series, but if you like old gold you'll like these). Here's some British half guineas; I used to have a James II 1688 half guinea but i've misplaced the pictures of that one! Here's three English one's; Henry VI (1422-71) Gold Noble (issued 1422) Edward III (1327-1377) Quarter Noble (issued 1361) James I (1603-25) 1624 Quarter Laurel Currently though i only have two gold coins (one of which is a really batter Charles II half guinea from the 1670s that is being used as a pocket piece) The other is this;
Nice coins sylvester. I'm still on the lookout for an affordable guinea that has not been jewelry at one point. that 2 ducat is a fine fine coin.
George III ones are your best bet. Pre-George III coins tend to be either very expensive or are junk. Although George III ones are not without it's problems. Issued from 1761-1799 (on and off), the 1761-4 period is expensive (but these are the nicest design wise). 1765-86 will be the ones that might turn up problem free but they'd look hideous in low grade. The 1787-99 issues are generally around in better grades and don't look as bad, but these Spade guineas were very popular with Victorians for jewelry purposes and thus nice looking ones gradewise will often be ex-mounts or holed. The early ornamental shield ones pre-1787 didn't pull the Victorian's in, but they rathermore saw alot of use. I still haven't had a full guinea piece! Though i've seen a few i wouldn't mind!
