    Hi all!

This coin came in one of the large lots I bought from Roma

(Sorry for the bad quality pictures. I'll see if I can get better photos tomorrow when the light's better)

It is an antoninianus of Aurelian, IMP AVRELIANVS AVG obverse and AETERNIT AVG reverse from Cyzicus. It also appears to have one dot below the bust

I tried finding it on ric.mom.fr, but could only find antoninianii of Aurelian with the longer obverse legend (which includes DOM) or with the bust left.

    Longer observe:

    https://ric.mom.fr/en/coin/1596
Both of these are from Rome mint, while the style of mine clearly looks like it's from Cyzicus

    Bust left:

This one is from Cyzicus, but the bust doesn't match

None of these match my coin, so could it be unpublished?

I would appreciate hearing any thought you have!

    Thanks!

I think you're right. It would fit with issue 2 from Cyzicus (271), bust type D2. There are a number of scarce types from that issue (e.g. #2852, #2859, and #2905) so it isn't all that surprising for new reverse types to show up. Congrats!!

    (Perhaps @Claudius_Gothicus can confirm this.)

Neat. A very Claudian bust for that coin.

The closest reverse I have is this Milanese ORIENS.

I managed to take some (hopefully) better pictures. I've managed to remove most of the deposits by the forehead on the obverse, but the deposits on the reverse are much harder to remove

I'm pretty sure it's not. The style of this coin definitely points toward it being from Cyzicus. The bust is also very similar to Claudius II, and there is a pellet at the bottom of the obverse

    Thanks! Nice coin :)

I've submitted mine to the ric.mom.fr website - hopefully they'll add it

Thanks! There were a couple of Aurelian antoniniani from the lots I bought with that Claudius II-style portrait, although this is the only potentially unpublished on in there

Sadly the site has been inactive for some time, with no new additions despite many submissions... not sure when or if they're planning to get back at it.
