i would like to know the year and country. i also would like to know what coin it is (qirsh? para?) 5? 10? i am in canada and have no knowledge of coins in egypt, all i know is what i've googled today, which may be incorrect. this coin might not even be from egypt, i have no clue so PLEASE help me if the coin has anything else on it (a king's name, for example) please let me know. thanks in advance!
thank you for the fast reply, i have been searching the internet for egypt 5para coins from 1850/1851, they look very similar to my coin, however my coin has markings that the others do not have (specifically, in the photo on the right that i posted earlier, near the bottom-right of the coin are markings that look like "L L" ) could these markings mean earlier than 1850/51? or later than? also, could this mean the coin is not from egypt? i have seen some coins from turkey with the same image (as picture on the left) and with the LL markings but with a different design in the middle. any help or suggestions? or a link to photos of exact same coin with confirmed info?
I see cipher "12" that mean: 12th year of reign. Abdul Mejid was a ruler during 1839-1861; 1839 + 12 = 1851. It"s easy question
Hey, The first 5 para coin is a turkish coin, written on the reverse "struck in Constantinople", the second is an Egyptian coin written on the reverse "struck in Egypt". It has the same figures as a Egypt was a colony of the turkish empire during that period. Cheers,
