I am posting in two threads to hopefully get the correct folks to get an opinion. The coin is a 1838 Victoria (young head) with a soldier and a lion
(it is definately a lion not a serpent or anything like that). I have searched the internet extensively and found almost zero on this particular coin. Is there anyone out there who has any information on this coin?

what you have there is a medal to commemorate her coronation made sometime in the 1870's I believe.

1873 Medal as it turns out

So if I understand correctly, this is a medal (not a coin) produced around 1873 commemorating Victoria. Second question is this item has any monetary value to a collector?

Unfortunately, your medal has some damage as you can see. Full rim is missing and the main devices are well worn. I hesitate to suggest a value as I am uncertain of the number of survivors and conditions.

Yes it will have a value to a medal collector, people do like to collect coronation medals and other Royalty medals.
It is a bit hard to say what yours would be worth from my own point of view I would possibly go up to about £4 for it if I seen it on ebay, but that is based on the pic provided. Is there a makers name or mark on it?
