I ran across this a few years ago for $1.00. I wonder how much the off monthly that produced these charged originally. It’s called the First Flight Collection.

It has an IHC from 1903, the year of the first flight by the Wright brothers. The flight occurred on December 17, 1903. It also contains a North Carolina Quarter for Kitty Hawk where the flight occurred. It also has a Quarter from Ohio as that’s the home state for the Wright brothers. Ohio claims to be the birthplace of aviation.

Included as another commemorative of this occasion is a $.06 stamp from the US Postal Service, which contains a likeness of Wilber and Orville Wright and the plane they flew.

Thanks Sal! The case is worn but hey, that’s the case. I can tell that the coins they used are genuine circulation strikes. They probably bought bags from the mint. Lol

Very nice, I like how it has the stamp and the coins.
Coin displays do not have to be expensive to enjoy.
Put some history behind the coin and it becomes a conversation piece.
Some young ones might get educated in the process or become interested in the coin hobby.

My 1912 S.S. Titanic is another example of an inexpensive coin display with some history.

Very nice. I don't have anything like this but do have an extensive collection of first flight stamped covers from the 80's. Now, to try and get rid of them. So far, I have seen no interest.

I can sell almost anything in my antique store. First day covers, postcards and stamps do not sell.

Do you ever dream about that(D)becoming an(S) on the reverse;).

I would love to wake up the next day and have that D become an S.
Or, maybe change into that 6th 1913. One can only dream sometimes.
