Allright, I'm a little concerned...

I do have to agree with you there. Like I said, I'm a shoe-stringer when it comes to coin budget so Whitmans are really my method of choice for storing my meager collection and I have noticed that they can be a pretty tight squeeze and you just about split the dang thing trying to wedge a coin in there.

I don't put my nice stuff that I have one or two of in Whitmans, just my no-frills pennies and nickels.....busy work more than anything, but it's fun to rifle through pocket change and it's like having a hobby already without investing a lot into it.

I've used 2x2s and boxes designed to hold them for many years with no adverse affects.

I also use the occasional Capital holder.

Coins will tone no matter what but I own very few albums. We sell 2x2s at work for $2.50 per hundred. Cheap and you can see both sides of the coin.

OHHHHHH NNOOOOOOOOO. Here we go again. I really can't believe sometimes that so many so called educated collectors still do not know the difference between and Album and a Folder.
If you look at the photos of those quarters submitted, they are not in an ALBUM. They are in a FOLDER. Please note that there is a massive difference in the two. A FOLDER is a sheet of paper with a slotted cardboard piece glued on. An ALBUM is what looks like a book, usually removable pages, pages show both sides of a coin, have protective slides over the coins on the front and back.
As to problems with coins in folders, YES. In many, many instances Folders will create problems with coins. The process is to add glue to a piece of paper and slap that slotted cardboard on that. Note the shinny stuff in the rear of the slot. That's glue. Nice if your coin is worn. You just spit on the coin and the glue will now hold the coin in place. High humidity also makes some of that glue connect to the coins. Some glues will also discolor the coins.
FOLDERS ara for just the real amateurs and people that really don't care about the end results of a coin. Really nice temporary holder and nice for displaying but horrible for longevity of the coins.
And as to Dansco being the best. Sort of like saying a Chevy is better than a Ford. All depends on who owns what and who has good luck with thiers.
I presently have over 100 Whitman ALBUMS. I've used them for many, many years and not problems.
    ALBUMS, NOT FOLDERS.
