    ZoidMeister Hamlet Squire of Tomfoolery . . . . .

    I picked this really interesting medal up a while ago but ran into some difficulty trying to find any documentation on its creation, mintage numbers, catalog references etc.

    Anyone seen one of these before or know anything about it?

    @cpm9ball ?

    Thanks in advance.

    @ZoidMeister - Unfortunately, my mintage records do not include photos, so you will have to check with the ANA to learn if your medal is an official specimen. I have three catalog numbers for their 1991 medals: 1) a 31.8mm ANA-91.CM51, 2) a 31.8mm ANA-91.CM51a and 3) a 57.2mm ANA-91.CM51b.

    The obverse of your medal was designed by Augustin Dupre who was born on October 6, 1748 at St-Etienne, France. (Note that the medal shows him as Dupre, F. The "F" is an abbreviation for the Latin word "Fecit" which means "He made it."

    It is not always easy to find mintage records for many medals produced by the Paris Mint. Perhaps you might find one of their annual catalogs if they still issue them.

    Gee, I missed that medal, for the 100th anniversary, to go with my Special Edition for the Red Book.

    Nice one

    Neat.
    Did you look through the online back issues of The Numismatist for 1991?
