What does the T in George T Morgan stand for? Anyone? This question was asked on a smaller forum that I post on, and we couldn't figure it out.
    Thanks.

I would err that that "T" stands for Thomas. Now I'm curious too. :)

I tried to figure it out awhile ago, and never could find anything that actually mentioned his full middle name. :computer:

For some reason I always thought it was Thomas, don't know where I got that from though.

Maybe T is his middle name, like Harry S Truman.

There was a country singer named George Thomas Morgan, that could be it.

    Adam,

If you read the thread on the "other" forum you'll see I've run into a few people that may be able to help.

I just emailed a guy that researches the name Morgan. He's in England. George T. Morgan was born in Birmingham.

I've been trying, lol, it's driving me crazy now. It doesn't look like his middle name is really printed in any coin related material. Best bet is probably a birth/death certificate, that should be easy to find :D.

Morgan lived at 6230 McCallum Street, Germantown PA, I wonder if his full middle name is listed on his headstone, problem is I don't know what cemetery he was buried in (there's like 10 in the Germantown area). Any CT members in the area want to go on a hunt :D.

I ran a search on ProSearch (which runs all the major databases), only found one obituary (NY Times), and it only lists his middle initial :desk:.

i know someone said it before, but i'm gonna say it again, maybe t is his middle name. all this searching by so many, and no results other than the letter t? i think he didn't have one.

    It's very possible.

I just did a search on Ancestry.com. I found him, parents Richard Morgan and Mary Jenks. He was one of 7 (5 brothers and 2 sisters), 4 don't have middle names, 2 have full middle names listed (Jenks and Elizabeth), and Morgan is listed as George T. Morgan.
