Post a large image of the rev. The coin looks to be delaminated. It may be damaged too but I don't see it yet.

I looked up the coin on the PCGS coin certification app and it indicates that the coin was graded F12 with a reverse lamination error.

Where's the body? It must have been buried or cremated already, oh well, missed it.

1914-D Reverse Lamination Error.jpg It is still in the snail mail, I offered to pay extra just to put it in a protective slab with basic info. they said "NO". (they'll slab a cricket but not a laminated key coin. go figger huh?)

the coin is the dead body, I wanted it slabbed even if I had to pay extra. instead it's shipped in a body bag. (but they did say they don't slab Laminations but I tried anyway)

It's strange that they would give it a cert # and straight grade but not slab it.

Interesting. I think the reason is because they don't wish to take a chance damaging it in the insert. I'll bet they the had to buy one back for that reason sometime in the past. ;)

but on customer request you'd think they'd do it.

:wacky: Do you REALLY believe some TPGS are interested what their customers want? :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:.

    Would ICG slab it?

Of course. I'll bet the other two major service would also. Since the OP likes PGCS prices and turnaround times, I'd try NGC next although there are cheaper and faster alternatives. ;)

PS Our customers can tell us what they want and they practically always get it! We slab coins reverse up which is a common request due to toning and have even slabbed coins upside down because the customer wanted the overstrike or design clash to appear right side up! :D
