Picked up a couple of Arab-Byzantine pieces and was wondering if anyone might be able to help figure out the mints. I think the standing caliph one might be Homs - looks a lot like this one at the British Museum - but I can't say for sure. Any help appreciated. Thanks. ab0016.jpg ab0037.jpg

Yes, the standing caliph coin is Homs, بحمص (bi-Hims) in right field reverse, reading downward.

The first coin is from the pseudo-Byzantine series, imitating the year 17 Cyprus follis of Heraclius. These were probably minted in Syria rather than Cyprus. Later Arab-Byzantine coins with the mint name Tiberias-Tabariyya imitated the same Cyprus type.
