Less than 2 weeks to go!!! Looking forward to seeing Dale Friend's Early Half Dollar collection at the PCGS table and the $10 million Ship of Gold exhibit. Of course, checking out the coins in the Heritage auction will be fun too. :thumb: I'll definitely be there on Saturday and may be there on Friday if I can get out of work somehow. Anyone else going??? Don't forget to get your $2 off coupon here: http://www.longbeachexpo.com/
I was planning on going, but yesterday I just spent all my coin money and a whole lot more I didn't have on a new(er) truck, so I don't know if It will be too depressing..:rolling:
Ive never been despite Long Beach being only 9 or so miles away. Sadly my coin budget is on fumes for the next few weeks & I will be attending the Long Beach Comic Expo with my dad the following week or so. Sucks cause I am not into comics anymore but its the only thing my dad & I do together and he isnt aware I got back into coin collecting 7 months ago
As usual, I'll be there the whole time! Be sure to stop by, introduce yourself if we haven't met, or say hi if we have - I'll be at table 848.
Hello CT I will be there all days! Be sure to drop by & say hi! #731 anyone going to playa del rey this weekend?
From my vast experience with going everyday to the show for The last 5 years i can tell you that the only day to really go Is Thursday, Friday is ok but most of the good stuff has been Picked through, Saturday everybody is in the process of packing Up and taking off:computer:
Since the show is just a couple days away, thought I'd bump this thread! If you want to meet other forum members, feel free to meet at my table (848) at noon each day.
Here's a video preview of the show and the Ship of Gold exhibit from PCGS's YouTube channel... pretty cool and now I can't wait to go!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZ-jZ92jy74
You guys are lucky !!! I've seen some of the coins thru Heritage and they are nice, very nice. Good luck to all and post some pics.........:thumb:
Going late friday afternoon and on saturday too!! wish i was there now instead of working for the man.
Just got back -- was there all day. Really didnt get anything and really didnt see anything I wanted to buy. No one had nicely toned Peace $. Only 2 dealers had nice toners and their mark up was huge. Toned Jeffs and Lincolns I would have paid $100 for 4 yrs ago are now 2-3x that price. I might go back tomorrow if I have any coin withdrawl symptoms...
left work early today and it took forever to get there w/ the traffic due to rain. ended up getting to the show around 3:30pm. had enough time to sell a couple of coins, buy a new 1909 Lincoln cent in PCGS MS66RD, check out the ship of gold exhibit, view a couple of Heritage lots and to see some friends. started out on a big down note when a dealer who was supposed to be holding a coin for me told me he must have messed up and sold it!!!! I was furious!!!!! If I knew there was a chance of that I would have insisted that he mail the coin to me at that time instead of holding it until the Long Beach show. Of course, I now see that same coin on eBay where it'll likely sell for much more than the price promised to me. Not cool at all. The ship of gold was cool. So was Dale Friend's early half dollar collection. will check them out in more detail tomorrow when hopefully I'll be more calmed down about the dealer screwing up my deal.
