    Hey all!

min pretty sure I did good on this coin.. I just thought it was a good grade and an 1810 from the sellers pictures. After getting it home and running all my counterfeit checks I started looking at it under white light and what caught my eye was some letters on the reverse and also some other markings as well as the reverse being rotated as seen in the picture. I started going through the Overton varieties I could find on PCGS and luckily I was able to match on the first two varieties O-101 or 101a, I also checked the other just incase. I don’t think it’s the the 101a due to that one being extremely rare from the price guides point of view. Can anyone point me to a website link that breaks these Overton varieties down? Sadly the PCGS app doesn’t break each down I can only go off pictures and do some guess work. I run into this issue with these half’s quite often and don’t really know where to look searching google hasn’t helped.

    Thank you in advance!

It's actually O-109 an R-3 die marriage--IMO, not quite to the 109A die state.

As an on-line reference, check out Dave's Bust Half Dollar Site. He has pics and descriptions of every die marriage.

Thanks for the reply and the link! After further looking I do believe this to be the O-109a R-4! The die crack from the date across the face to the right stars, then the lettering to the right of the eagle, and the lm above the eagles head the other clash marking!
