Hi guys, I have this 1992 P Washington Quarter and would like to know if this is considered a an Off Center Error or a Broadstrike Error? There are no ridges on the rim.
Does it have reeding on the edge. That would gelp determine what it is. Oh wait you said no reeding. So it's.. Broadstruck!
You mean the edgethe rim just goes around the coin and the edge is aka the third side, agreed with broadstrike nice one.
Thanks a lot for your answer Paddy! I am very happy about finding this broadstruck quarter! It took a long time to search through sooo many quarters month after month!! Sometimes I get a bit frustrated with finding only minor errors, but this one made my day!
He mentioned there are no "ridges" on the rim. I probably misinterpreted, but I thought he meant no defined outline of the "horizontal" rim of the coin as opposed to reeds on the edges.
Figures. I don't interact much with that species successfully, ever since the other one showed up and won't leave. They talk funny and confuse me. And, in my defense, these days one never knows....gelp doesn't help.
@Rosalita Mike Diamond has given the best attribution. It is an Off Center Strike. @mikediamond Question.. So an Off Center Strike can also have missing reeding? Thanks
In a broadstrike, all design elements are present on both faces. In order to diagnose an off-center strike, the design has to be cut off along the edge on at least one face.
