HI All, I am not a new member, but this is my first thread. I would like to see pics, or stories or anything about 1929 type 1 and 2 National notes. As long as I have been here, I have yet to see any thread on the subject. Thanks in advance John
I am just learning how to scan, so you will have to bear with me. I can assure you that what I have is nothing special. But, my sister in law and brother have said they will help me learn to use my computer this weekend, and I look foward to sharing my collection with everyone at CT. Thanks, John
ok here ya go. you asked for them 1929 THE MUTUAL NATIONAL BANK OF CHICAGO **TYPE I** 1929 FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF CHCAGO 1929 THE LAWNDALE NATIONAL BANK OF CHICAGO **TYPE II** 1929 THE NATIONAL BANK OF THE REPUBLIC OF CHICAGO **TYPE II** 1929 THE NATIONAL BUILDERS BANK OF CHICAGO **TYPE I** 1929 THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF CHICAGO 1929 THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF CHICAGO **PCGS 64PPQ** 1929 THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK OF CHICAGO
thanks urban. I think they are such an unusual looking note, and one of the more rare out there. They also allow you to collect "hometown" notes, which is what my goal will be. Again, thanks for sharing, John
no problem john. i too need to pick up some hometown notes. currently i am collecting notes from chicago hence all these notes being chicago notes
Brooklyn , N.Y.National I still dont have one yet but when I do it will be my hometown, Brooklyn,N.Y. in any denomination.
I just won this one on eBay. Being from NY, I prefer to collect them when I have the chance. I have found only one small size NBN from my hometown, it was a $20, type 1, probably a G-VG note, was serial #1, and was last auctioned on HA 7 years ago for $800+. If I were ever to see it come up again, I think I would buy it at any reasonable cost. I imagine it will elude me for some time. John
Very nice National, now you got me interested in another type note, obsessive compulsive on currency !
reiljj00.... You have been holding out on us my friend.. nice little collection of Small Size Nationals you got going there.!! :thumb::thumb: RickieB
Got 3 more, these are the nicer ones http://i807.photobucket.com/albums/yy351/reiljj00/My%20Currency/IMG-1.jpg
Not really holding out, I am just VERY VERY far from being computer literate. At 33 yrs old it is kind of embarassing how bad I am, but I am willing to learn. I really enjoyed this first thread of mine and really hope to see more posts. Little by little I will share my collection, it will just take some time. Thanks to all, John
Thaks again, Urban, that is one of my fav's too. The other two $10's in that pic are consecutive #'s, I don't know if you noticed that or not. While the look of uncirculated currency is a thing of beauty, I love the history that suddounds circulated notes. It is nearly impossible to find consecutive #'s in circulated condition, as you probably know. Thanks for taking the time to look at my pics and posting your own. I love to look at them. Hope to see more, John
I just recieved a few more that I won on Heritage and ebay. I will post them when I get the chance. John
