I have this 92 penny and I'm trying to figure out what to call the issues above the reverse letters. As always, I appreciate the help and information. Obverse edit.jpg PICT0099.jpg PICT0101.jpg T-D edit.jpg

Not popped plating blisters, although the result is the same. All of the zinc rot areas correspond to split-plate doubling…imo… but, to be fair, it may be some of both. Once the surface is ruptured the rot begins.

It is why I call all pennies minted after late 1982 Crappy Zincolns.

Not really considered an error coin. In fact the broken plating renders the coin 'not worth saving'.

zincolns are showing up more and more as thought to be ERRORS as they begin to rot. Sad but true.:(

Yes, they are no more errors than die cracks and die chips.

So many anomalies, so few errors, go figure! Let's not use any part of Lincoln's name. Let's change it to Zincrap, what do you think...

I think "Zincoln" is more explicit. "Zincrap" could apply to any coin made of zinc.

I stopped looking at Zincoln's years ago for this very reason.
