1940 nickel possible strike through

    While going through some nickels I found this,my first thought was damage.But the letter(N)is perfectly undisturbed besides average circulation wear inside of the square.There also is a die crack at the bottom right corner connecting to the neck of Jefferson,its also a Frisco. 20211105_204722.jpg 20211105_205233.jpg 20211105_205253.jpg

    Not sure what I see in that photo.
    That line running from the I to the jacket is it bi level?

    Kind of looks like a delamination with a missing piece.

    Agreed. Looks like it was struck and afterwards that piece fell off. The IN is there just not struck like a strike through.
