I say just get the long wire grabbing tool that I posted above and spend a few hours a day pulling out a few coins at a time until you get the bottle back down to about 1/4 full. That's what I would do, anyways.

I emptied out my neighbors 5 gal jug of change with a shop vac. I adapted it to a small enough hose and duct taped about 6” of the toe end of panty hose to the end of the vac hose. The the panty hose sucked into the vac hose and would fill with coins. Took about 2 hours to empty it enough to dump the rest out.

I was able to get a bunch of pillow cases and tipped it over and filled each one to a good amount where it was heavy but still easily one could carry. Luckily it’s a plastic jug not glass!

That’s actually a really good idea sorting them first just so I’m not all over the place confused as all get out. Thank you for this advice I am someone that definitely needs order myself.

It was a good time while it lasted now I just collect a monthly check and walk around with a limo due to some gnarly sciatica down the left leg. I wouldn’t be much of hand to hand so thank god for concealed carry and ongoing training right?

I still maintained my fitness and didn't stop Judo till 4 years ago, as hard as it was. These last 4 years though have been regular physiotherapy sessions and much less exercise. But my Wife says at 59 maybe i should be slowing down so we can at least do stuff together when we retire.

That makes sense your still young maybe just sticking up with cardio and what not would be best instead of throwing yourself around and others. I was doing bodybuilding for a bit but sadly that’s just quickening the prices even more.

I related the sad story of the penny jug to my wife, and she immediately suggested this, without having even seen your post.

She's really good at solving these kinds of puzzles. One of many reasons I'm lucky to have landed her. :) If she recommends it, so do I.

Thing is, that's almost guaranteed to leave scratches (or outright gouges) on every cent it touches.

Oh yeah, that it would do. Vacuuming them up would most likely cause damage as well, from them smacking into each other on the way through the hose and collecting component.

Vacuuming them into a sock stuck in the hose, not all the way up into the bag. I'm pretty sure it would be more gentle than dumping them out into a hard container.
