Hi Randy. Nice collections. The very old coins amaze me. I have a widowers mite. Makes me wonder "how" they made coins back then. I mean the technology we have today makes things far easier then in BC time.
I found an old tin in my Grandfather's dresser after he died that contained a variety of very old coins. Those are my favorites. I still keep them in that same tin today. Red
I think the coins that eveyone here inhereted or that were gifts from loved ones, no matter what value, are the greatest coins in your collections! -- Thank you If you have time look on the world/ancients board, many of the other collectors here have much better examples than mine. I'd imagine smashing your thumb makes you learn quick on how to make coins
I have a group. 2 peace dollars, 1 V nickel and one 1896 barber half handed down from my grandparents. (One dollar from both sides.) One each peace dollar from my wife grandparents. And 1 V nickel from my wife's father. Each one marked which side of the families they came from on the flip.
