I’ve had this coin about 9 years and just recently unpacked it. I remember buying it but that was a long time ago when I was working long hard hours. It’s an 1852-O $1.00 Gold Coin, a Liberty Head with a Closed Wreath reverse. Only 140,000 minted. The coin was designed by James B. Longacre. It contains .900 gold and .100 copper. The net weight is .04837 Oz. of pure gold. It has a Reeded edge. Five mints produced the Liberty Head One Dollar Gold Coin. In 1854 the name was changed to the Indian Princess Head. The coin was made thinner but 2 mm large and it contained the same specifications as the type one coin. The type two had a smaller head with a headdress while the reverse had a fully enclosed wreath. This is the only type one one Dollar hold coin that I own. It’s at least VF condition and I have a good price into it considering I bought it in 2012.
