nothing nicer then a seller pulling the trigger for you I had added this bin to my watchlist so i had a backup if i lost all 4 of the auctions i was hoping to win... well one is still running but biddiots had it well over list already so i was done... then I get nice beep from this dealer with an offer bringing the price of the bin under list (and considerably lower then the ones i lost at auction) My type set is hot this month lol.... needless to say will post the slab/grade sometime tomorrow
You don't see many 2 center's in that good of condition. I do see some luster, the motto is visible, the obverse and reverse are clear. I really like it, AU-58, possibly higher, depending on the grader!
true true but even this one would push a c note right now at auction. Saw a few worse then this one selling 120+ (and yes large motto, so a bit cheaper but the small mottos hitting 200+ in xf or better...)
I have an 1864 and an 1870. They have not been graded and I am not much good a grading older coins like these. Maybe I looked at the wrong year of my Red Books. I'll look at my 2021 to see how close your evaluation is, as well as my 1870. My father left a mega bunch of old coins and it has taken me quite a while to look through them. When you showed your 1864 Large Motto, it was the first time that I really looked at it. Great coin, no matter how it would be graded.
