What kind of error (if it is an error?) on this 1988 S Penny.

I calling it "There is no good way to strike out God" penny! Any other ideas to name it? And thank you for your help in advance.

It looks like a normal proof to me,but please post proper pictures no side etc.Just put the device right above the coin at no angles for the obverse and reverse.

I see split plate doubling aka worthless zinc rot and what looks like a die chip in the O.

That explains why its raised inside the letters as well? Just trying to educate myself.

 

I was taking a picture to sell it on ebay when I saw the linear plating blister http://www.error-ref.com/blisteredplating/ . It will be auctioned off on ebay very soon. Thanks for the help.

 

Aside from the split plating at the top, yes, this would be my best observation as to what appears to be bubbling inside & between the lettering.
