As Ardatirion said "Its been pretty boring these past few weeks, at least for ancient coins. So I figured I'd post some of my new purchases."

Nice pick up! I've been meaning to get one of these too, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

If you don't mind telling, where did you get it/how much did it set you back?

another coin I'm willing to trade you for if you want :)

It is a great one though :) I like the toning on it too.

I think with a bit of concentration I'll be able to stare at mine and maybe find which legion it is (or imagine it if I spend to much time:goofer:)

    Thanks for the kind words.
It really depends on what you want to trade it for :high5: (might be a bit pricey though....)

  10. I'm amazed that you can identify that!

Randy, I agree with you, legionary denarii have something special. I like them too.

Here is one that I found last year (together with the 4 other coins). Not in good shape, worn pretty slick so that the legion cannot be identified. It probably circulated for about 120-140 years. But it is still special to me.

I meant my antony for yours :goofer:

Not fully :) but the gallys pretty visalbe, and can see parts of the eagle and standards :)

Its awsome the coins you find!

The fact that they did circulate for a long time and where the came from facinates me.

On another forum someone said, "With the Antony coin you at least know that a Roman Legionary held this coin just before the battle of Actium. "
