Now this one here has circam potential. Stick that one in your pocket and carry it around for a while. Maybe a long while.
Hey, look at that, 100 pages. That's pretty gross, considering it's really only me posting here. Sorry for taking up all this bandwidth. This is my week's total, once the '39-'41 nickels are pushed aside. Not too shabby. Individuals can be seen in this week's postings. For first timers, anything pictured is unique. Thanks for stopping by. I'll try to post something later in celebration of this lame feat. Yikes, I've got way too much time on my hands. But you've got to admit, i do find some cool stuff.
Are you @Beardigger or @Treashunt? Get out of here kid! Just kidding! I agree, the pic is a little blurry, but that O and M look a little off. I'll try to find it. As always, thank you @potty dollar 1878! Not sure what we'd do without you
@potty dollar 1878 this was BEFORE i started looking for W mint marks. I see stuff like that and kick myself. Could have over 300 by now. Big dummy i am.
Yes live close to Canada. Yes I collect Canada coins. Just don’t know what the reverse of them look like and don’t have a Canada Red Book. Otherwise I’d be all over them. Have a bunch of up north Canada coins. Maybe 100 or so. But have no idea what they are.
I'll see what i have left, i sent some off to @Matthew Kruse when he ran his coin contest. But i have quite a few left. I'll send them of to you. Get you started, .
I think this coin might be an error. Generally, WWI Nickel has mint marks. This 1942 coin is a World War II Nickel, and If I am not mistaken, the mint mark on War Nickel is at the top of the Monticello Dome. I have the same coin, but with a "P" on top of the dome. Yours doesn't have a mint that I could see. Could be an error.
Thank you for the response and stopping by. The 1942 nickel is unique in that it was minted in Denver and Philadelphia for the first part of the year with the standard nickel composition, then the U.S. needed the metals for the war time effort and made them out of 40% silver, which your nickel is made of, for the second half of the year. Hence the strange placement of mint marks, or lack thereof. I will post some '42s i have with the D on them. They're cool too.
Yes it looks like it could be one to me. The L's look like they have split serifs. I'm 99% sure you gave a DDR there.
And this guy has seen some wear. @Beardigger, figures, right? Lol. I think I've found two since we swapped! just another beat up W.
