1996 (clad?) Error penny?

Hi, there seems to be some info online about a variety of 1996 d penny that had a clad error with a super thin copper layer. Is that true? If so is this that?

Zinc rotjust a cent spend it while its one for now.

 

Somebody took some sandpaper or other type of abrasive and ground off the copper plating. Damage, not an error

BTW: zinc rot is when the zinc core starts to corrode similar to rust on your car. No zinc rot (yet), but exposed zinc isn't a good thing

It's better to give the last correct answer than the first wrong answer. Just something for precocious young numismatists to consider

 

Does the reverse look the same @Taina Sorensen. It's got a pretty neat look for a circulated zinc.

I'm guessing less than it use to ? It's pretty much "toast" .
