Found another one, a 1912 Gold Indian $2.50. Second highest mintage at 616,000. B85B1A05-ECAD-4491-9D39-1A0D4B1B1320.jpeg 5284D549-C169-4B0E-AB70-0235D63DCB2F.jpeg

Don't be fooled by the mintage figure. Despite being the second most minted, it is far from the most available date in the series.

Yes, but the mintage figures are all low for the entire series. Obtaining them all is quite another thing.

    . . . and a worthy goal.

    Have fun.

If Indian gold is your thing, the book by Allan Schein is incredible. Highly recommended.

Yep. Just pulled it out of my library. The Gold Indians of Bela Lyon Pratt. Not only is it a fascinating biography of Pratt (Schein got Pratt's letters from his granddaughter, if memory serves), it also is a comprehensive review of both the 2 1/2 and 5 Dollar gold coins.

Thank you. I have all of the $2.50 Quarter Eagles except for the 1911-D weak D. I bought the strong D instead as I felt the price was too high and the resale too low. It’s the only gold series that a normal person can afford to complete. The Red Book shows that.
