Can someone tell me if this is a quarter?

A lot of wishful thinking. As micbraun says the large size bust dime was 18.8 mm, the modern quarter (smaller than the bust quartr of that era) is 24.3 mm. 5.5 mm larger than the bust dime. 29% larger in diameter.

Sorry for late response, don't get a chance much these days to get on computer. Anyway I put this coin on top of a dime and seems to be close in size so thinking it is a dime. Than you

Yes, it's close size to a dime, so I'm guessing this is a dime. Thank you

A battered 1827 dime. The larger planchet size plus the damage makes it look more quarter size
