Won these two coins at my local club meeting Wednesday night for a $5 raffle tickets purchase. The scuff on the reverse of the nickel is on the slab. I wasn't aware of how pretty these little Mexican 2 peso gold coins are. Also had a nice presentation on specimen, fantasy, art and other kinds of non-currency paper money. And one of the members showed us two staters from about 350 B.C. One from Corinth and one from Ephesus. Both were extremely high quality with perfect flans. Wish I had photos of them.
I get a lot more out of my coin club meetings than the occasional raffle win, although those are always nice. Education, fellowship, and we're a nice co-ed group. Mostly older but some folks in their 20's and 30's and a nice group of YNs.
I once won a gold coin from a ticket purchased at the Whitman show in Baltimore..I almost huge up on the person calling. He started asking way to many questions. Its sort of funny as I just found the ticket the other day on my desk. second prize WTG on your win....as I not that lucky....usually.....I did win the draft lottery.... congratulations on the win.
