15 - 1942 Wren Farthings after an acetone soak

So these are clearer pictures post soak of the roll of 1942 Wrens that I picked up. Some of these are rather nice for such a cheap purchase. Others, have verdie that really just can't be fixed.

This one has nice color






This one has some bright red and I haven't seen coin with this kind of mixed colorings





This one has nice tone and such a lovely strike. It came out real nice from the wash

This coin came out just lovely


there is some laminor pattern on this one that is hard to figure out. It feels like a flaw in the coin

This coins is not savable probably

More motted coloring

 

More Verdis. This coin might be worth trying to save because it is a quality coin.

 

Not the best obverse pic as it is in the original mint set. First year with Elizabeth II on the obverse.

 

I don't know what is happening here. Some kind of damage..

 

Cactus wren!

 

Actually, I thought he (she?) was a plain ol' house wren. I shot the pic earlier this spring when they had a nest by the pool.

 

I could sit and watch birds all day.
