Well I guess my complaining about the unbranded wrapper rolls in the other thread was a bit premature!

Very nice, I've searched dozens and dozens of boxes of quarters and not found silver so far this century. Might have to give the plain wrappers another go...

I too would like to know how they get so lucky potty dollar. Oh well, gotta respect their tenacity. I enjoy their posts. Thanks for sharing but I am still jealous!

I was a paperboy in the early 60's and of course before 1964 and for a few years afterwards there was lots of silver. My mom who was in her 20's during the great depression became wary of certain things (one being silver coinage).

Now she wasn't way ahead of the curve as I recall, but slightly before 1964 and for several years ongoing she would always go through my collection money which was 98% silver coins, an occasional dollar bill when the customer needed change.. (the weekly paper in my hometown, The Sharon Herald, in western PA) was a staggering 35 cents per week.

Over the years I remember bags and bags of those coins she cherry-picked. I don't remember just how much silver was stored in big wooden toy wagon my dad built for me. My guess is several thousand various denominations.

I never knew what became of them? True story.⭐️
