Its no secret that end of 2020 and majority of 2021 I have had some health issues, unrelated to covid but the same had me on a road to recovery. Rob on two occasions sent me a little something to brighten my long days of healing up.
Those small tokens meant so much to me....its hard to express in words...other than this world be such a better palce if only others were only half as kind as Rob is.... thank you....Rob

Both of these are ex @lordmarcovan He had put these up a similar piece to the skull token for sale that I was the underbidder on. We ended up going back and forth we things we both had that the other wanted. If memory serves correctly, not much actual money changed hands

These are 2 of my favorite pieces. I guess Rob and I have similar tastes....

Aw, I am simultaneously touched and and just a wee bit embarrassed by this thread. Thank y’all.

@Chris B - with Halloween coming, I might have to find the old avatar I made of that “skully” token, and wear it again for a few days. I miss that Niobe medal too.

I just gave that Aussie token I got from you to @kazuma78. I liked it, but so did he, and if we’re here to celebrate generous people, then there’s one to mention. He’s given me so much stuff over the past few years, it was time to reciprocate.

I still have the big Siberian and the Cuban cow.

Awweee, LordM….. Don’t be embarrassed. You are the most generous soul on this forum. We all appreciate you more than you know…. I’ll post the coin (token?) I promised to bring for our next lunch meeting.

I’ve never seen a Bar ‘cent’ “live and in person”. I remember ogling them in the Red Book as a young collector.

Thanks @Paddy54 for starting this thread. Rob has always been one of the good guys on CT. Even if it doesn't get mentioned, all of the big and little things he does for others is deeply appreciated

I recall Rob once posting about the large copper Russian 5 Kopeks. Here are some of mine

A well deserved thread, and too long in it's making, as far as I'm concerned, and I've only been here since February!

A wonderful thread in honor of a great person. The big and little stuff he does, and the majority of stuff that I believe we never hear about, is a good reason to pay tribute to a person that deserves all the kudos that comes his way. Thank you @lordmarcovan for everything you do in life and this hobby. And for this coin which I will always treasure

    Three Cheers For @lordmarcovan !

Here are two of my favorite pieces that were previously owned by the aforementioned lord:

1852 Large Cent Brothel Token. (Edited to be family friendly :p )

1790 Russian 5 Kopek. Big and Beefy. Just like our Lord's generosity! :)

FFIVN was also gifted a set of elongated cents. Seeing Rob's family crest inspired him to work on his own for our family. He came up with a few different designs and as of yet hasn't decided on which he wants to make official :)

    Well Lord M
In appreciation for all you have done for me, and others here on CT. I picked this up this morning for you! I will post it out tomorrow morning down to Brunswick ....yeah I realize your initials are RWS
And this is the closest that I could find ....so let say the "J" stands for "Joy" ....as you have definitely given so many of us the joy of going to our mail boxes and finding a small token from you.

I believe that "for once here on C .T." I can speak for all....Thanks Rob for all you do for so many!

Rob let me take this picture of a coin that’s still a favorite of mine, although it has since moved on from LordM to a new owner. I like the light shifting over the waves and the fronds of the palm tree.

Maybe he thinks I did him a favor by taking the pictures, but I think I came out ahead by seeing a coin I would never have seen otherwise.

Excellent Thread! Rob is indeed a great person and very generous with his time and collecting. Over the past few years we have exchanged a few items but I was shocked and very grateful when he randomly sent me his Aussie token straight out of the eclectic box! I had been a little interested when @Chris B was selling some pieces and this was one of them, but Rob had a line out on it first so I missed it. With my job I am blessed to be able to travel some and so this coin goes with my "places I've been" set. Very happy to have this one in my collection!

Wow, thanks! I’ll have to find a cent bezel for it so I can include it in my LT collection (since all the rest are “holey” pieces.)
