Differences Between A MS-65 and A VF-20

Who graded the circulated coin VF-20?

 

That’s the way it was listed from the dealer but I think it’s too high. Only paid $5.00 for it so I’m pleased.

 

I'd like to get my hands on some "vf20s" like that.

 

You mean like 15-20 years ago.

 

I'm first to admit that I'm no expert, but comparing those two coins makes me think one might not be real. Subtle differences would have me examining them under a microscope. Rays of the sun and on the reverse, next to the designers initials. Like I said, no expert and just from photographs.

 

Now the VF-20 coin is a MS-65 on Ebay all day long...

 

I was thinking more like VF35 or XF40.

 

It might be a little higher than that, even. The pics hint at a considerable amount of luster hiding under the toning on the reverse, but I'd have to see it in hand to be sure.

There is also quite a bit of luster.
The hand also looks to be slightly visible.
