I bought this MacPuffin dollar for $2.50 because it looked cool and I'd never seen one before. As I understand, these were sold at face value in select shops in Cape Breton, and were used at face value. Essentially, they were sort of the Disney Dollars of the tourist town. They do have expiration dates, so unfortunately this one is almost 50 years out of date, but it's still pretty neat.
