The copper plating is approx 8 microns (0.0003"). It doesn't take much to breech the plating, and once that happens, the underlying zinc can start to corrode. It's similar to rust forming on a scratched car fender.

In addition, the mint had a lot of problems with split plating during the early years of the zinc cent production. This seemed to occur frequently around the mint mark (possibly to metal flow in that region of the coin). This is what happened to your coin

I would suggest that if you disagree, just respond with a thank you, and have your prominent local dealer (I think you said that in the other thread) submit it to a grading service for verification. It will only cost you around $65+, but what do we know.

My observation is that some members provide curt responses that are easily interpreted as sour by new members. It can trigger a negative response in return and quickly devolve.
