Okay, The obv die crack thru the date is not visible, but, assuming you correctly id'd the variety correctly: in F-12 condition it is listed at $75, vs a 'Normal' coin at $25
This example doesn't have the die crack either. https://www.pcgs.com/coinfacts/coin/1868-5c-rpd-fs-302-003-3/38338/64
I see from old thread. Paddy54 has one. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1868-nickel-with-reverse-of-68.361588/
I have one also . It's a FS-902 . Part of the C in Cents and Last S in Cents re missing. Not sure what's going on the Date on the Obverse.
The 6 and 8 on the date look a bit odd. Where is paddyman when you need him, out digging I bet. Some very good opinions though. Thanks and good luck.
Die cracks aren't always present on a variety coin. Depending on die state they may or not be present. I concur the variety. 68 with the reverse of 68 you can see all the different hubs in the cpg I believe this to be llb hub. Notice the broken c as well broken s in cents.
