    47.7%
  2. B. Blast white

  3. C. Original skin

A for technical cleanliness. The toning on the reverse FROM THE IMAGE is a detractor if anything. 1951 is a Tough year for finding decently toned Washingtons from ANY mint, although the "easiest" (which is not saying much) mint to find decent toners from is S. On the whole, for that specific year, if you could find a decently clean and well struck 1951 Washington that is a lustrous white, it would probably be a better hole filler for an album than a toned coin, unless you are specifically looking for a toned coin for a toned set.

I would agree that C is probably from a Mint Set. Even though the obverse looks AU, more than likely that is a strike issue, as the reverse does not have wear characteristics concomitant with the obverse. You will find a fair amount of 1951 P Mint Set Washingtons have that look. Here's one I pulled directly from a Mint Set. BTW I pulled a 1951 S Washington, as well as 1951 S Franklin from the Set, sent them in to PCGS, and came back with decent grades, MS66 and MS65FBL, so I highly doubt the set had been picked through. The toning on the obverse is higher end for a 1951 P mint Washington, which, as I said, is not saying much.

I chose B. Although I do like a nice toner, there is an alluring element to a blast white piece.

    B. For a coin that old to survive in that condition (blast white, uncleaned) makes it more valuable to me.

C is AU not that great looking for a Washington. Between A & B the quality of B is better and not because it's white. Less marks and better strike. If you like Washington quarters with a little toning then go with A. I have yet to see a nicely toned Washington quarter most don't seem right to me.

    A without any doubt whatsoever.

B...hair, ribbon, claws eyebrow area, cheek, claws, arrows, breast, compared to A, appears to me to be less than A for superior strike. The hunt for a superb 51 is always a lot of fun.

Either A or B; flip a coin. Both have a look I like.

First off, what great pictures! I like them all. A is just a bit better, less marks, great polish lines in the obverse fields, just a tad of toning.

B most likely looked a lot like this before the second dip.

Those surfaces are way to clean, to not have aged for 80 years.

Tough choice but for strictly eye-appeal B is the choice. For clarity and a higher grade (IMHO) I would go for A even with the toning. It is up to the individual whether or not they want eye-appeal or a higher grade. After all, don't almost all coins start toning after so many years? C seems to be my least favorite although, as many respondents have stated, may be from a mint set.
