Unfortunately, those are the ones people are pedaling on ebay with business strikes from Philly. All I want is business strikes from both in the same lot. Ebay can be so darn frustrating at times!:computer:

I'm glad you said that because that was my sentiment exactly in another thread. I peruse eBay just to get an idea of whats out there and what people are paying for them and there is an exorbinant amount of sellers who don't put anything in the auction title identifying the coins as Satin, SMS, etc. I wonder how many people hit that BIN button before going down to the item description and think they have business strikes? I really wish the Mint would go back to making annual business strike mint sets.

  4. I have only found 2 2009 P dimes in circulation (from change at Walmart in July). Let's say hypothetically that we never see the 2009 D nickels and dimes circulation strikes (or very small amounts of them). What do you think that might do to the eventual demand/price of the 2009 US Mint Sets with the satin versions of those coins? TC

the availability of the satin finish coins will have absolutely no influence on the circulation strike coins

I think the point i was starting out with , is you have the cash you can buy anything even if it is a outrages -spelling ? since , some collectors must have it.

I think this is a similar scenario to the 1955-S cent. With a relatively low mintage of 55 million, and being the last san fran cent made, it was hoarded. Today, you can easily get these in BU condition for cheap. In the next few years 2009 coinage will become available with little premium attached.

....what i am saying is this: the philly and denver minted coins, including

dimes and nickels, are included in the mint sets. even though they are satin

they are still the two examples from the two mints. so if you can't get an

example through circulation at least you'll have the option in the sets.

Man, I hope you're right. Then all the guys with patience like me will prove to be the winners here. You wouldn't believe how many years I waited to get that 1987 Kennedy half in circulation!;)

I'm afraid I can't wait 55 years, there won't be an age category for me in the CT age poll.:D

The mint is only sending out 2009 nickels & dimes in mixed rolls. At least that is what I was told my the mint & every fed NY. NO. Sl. I called. Looking for rolls of D dimes.

This price is ridiculous. I agree with SNDMN59. This is a situation where a little patience will really pay off. Just wait a few months (or maybe a bit longer) for the coins to be available locally. There is no logical reason to pay over face value for rolls of current circulating coinage....

Ok where do you get these rolls then?

    Absolutely incorrect.

You don't, that's why after nearly a year they're at a huge premium.

ok gotcha. That is what the registry collectors are doing with 2005 onward dimes. They are not including business strikes.
