    • Coin is dated Meiji 1, but the first modern coins were struck in Meiji 3
    • The date is "ichi" (1) instead of "gan" (first)
    And, of course, it's in overall crappy condition. :rolleyes:

    LOL Roy, yes I know.

    That's a big horrible mistake of not knowing what "gan" year is. Of course, not knowing when the first modern Japanese coins were minted is another fatal mistake. (Although there are some trial coins that were struck in Meiji 2)

    Overall, horrible counterfeit :p

    that wouldn't happen to be a big old casting line running from 12 to about 4 o'clock (as pictured), would it?

    the five dollar required insurance is icing on the 15 dollar shipping fee cake, heh.
