Hey I was hoping you guys could help me out again. I ran across a couple coins that I thought might be double die but I'm not sure. I keep reading and watching videos and I'm still just not getting it. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you
DDD die deterioration doubling not a true doubled die still 25 cents ,the mm on the 68 cent looks pretty normal to me.
Hey sorry I didn't mean to add the 68 cent picture. Just the picture with the s under the 68. But really just die deterioration. Man I'm just just getting this no matter how many videos or threads I read. Thank you
Welcome to CT, it is a challenge when you first start, I know, I been there too. Keep checking your coins and enjoy them. You have the community here to assist you. A few hints: When posting your pictures, large rather than thumbnails are better for viewing. Also both sides of whole coin as well as the close ups help with identifying the possible errors/varieties. (The 68 close ups are real nice and clear, well done!)
For future reference.. The correct Numismatic terminology is actually Doubled Die not double die. Wexler's Coins and Die Varieties (doubleddie.com)
