Like my last thread, I purchased several new coins in succession and one of them happens to be this Saloninus tetradrachm.

I already own a Saloninus Alexandrian but I didn't have this reverse type nor I couldn't pass up how affordable this one was for its condition.

Really nice coin @Mat - presumably at a low price, too.

My Saloninus only cost $15, but the reverse isn't as cool as yours.

I do that "alas, poor Yorick" reverse type on Diocletian, though.

Saloninus is not one I have yet in any form. I really like obverse portrait on yours @Mat
@hotwheelsearl I like the reverse on your $15 coin as well.! I don't have an Alexandrian tet with reverse like that yet. I've got several "Yorick"s though :)

    That's a good one !
I lack a Saloninus alexandrian tet, that would make a nice family snapshot

    Parents and bro'

    Great coins everyone.

And that's an excellent score for $15. I've never seen that reverse for sale anywhere for him.

I agree! I admit that I haven't seen that reverse for either Saloninus or Valerian II; in fact I couldn't find the Zeus reverse on Wildwinds except for Valerian I, Aurelian, and some other earlier emperors.

They both have Zeus in Emmett and are fairly scarce to rare with the reverse type depending on the years.
